Congratulations! You’re planning a wedding! One of the biggest and most important days in any couple’s life. I’m sure you’ve already faced so many challenges and had so many successes to get to this point. 

 

A wedding ceremony is so special because it marks the beginning of a new chapter in your lives! I believe every couple should have the wedding of their dreams to create memories that will last a lifetime.

When I planned my own wedding, I knew exactly what kind of cake I wanted, where I wanted it to be held, how I wanted everything to look, and it was truly picture perfect. It wasn’t the most extravagant or expensive ceremony. So much of it was homemade with the help of friends and family. And after all these years, what I’ve come to realize is…the wedding clothes get hung in the closet. The wedding cake gets eaten. The pictures hang on walls and in photo albums that collect dust. The videos get watched on occasion. But the most unique thing about my wedding that gets revisited on a regular basis is the original song we had at our ceremony. I call out, “Hey Alexa, play Korekara,” and suddenly the song I sang to my husband on that sunny spring day in Florida comes pouring out of the speakers, filling our home with gorgeous memories. 

 

Millions of people have walked the aisle to the bah, dah, dah, dum of Wagner’s Bridal March. Millions more have sashayed to Pacabel’s Canon in D (I did!!). Thousands of people have danced their first dance to the song you call “yours” and those moments are collective and beautiful.
